Candle Questions + Care
For our wax, we tested every option, and landed on a propriety coconut soy blend. We love coconut soy wax because it is a vegetable by-product, made from the oil of coconut and soybean, making it a renewable resource. This wax is vegan, natural, and only utilizes FDA approved waxes.
Coconut soy wax burns 30-50% slower than paraffin wax, giving you a candle that lasts longer. This wax is also environmentally friendly, producing minimal to no soot while burning, and releasing no harmful toxins into the air.
We only use clean, quality fragrance and essential oils, free of dyes, propellants, hazardous phthalates and other synthetic ingredients, in all of our products. We also offer a Pur Botanica line, made from 100% all-natural fragrances that are ISO 9235 certified.
Yes. We proudly do not use any animal-derived ingredients in any of our products.
We chose wooden wicks not only for their unique crackling sound, but also because they are a cleaner alternative to cotton wicks. Our eco-friendly, clean-burning, hand-crafted wooden wicks are made of only 100% FSC certified natural wood from sustainably sourced sappy fruit trees.
3.4 oz candles burn up to 25 – 30 hours
8 oz candles burn up to 45 – 50 hours
The first time you burn your candle, burn it for approximately 3 hours, or until the top layer of wax is completely melted across the top of the jar. This will not only maximize the fragrance throw, but also help avoid “tunneling”— where the candle burns down the middle, leaving wax around the edges. Make sure to keep your candle away from drafts or moving air – moving air disturbs the flame and can lead to an uneven burn.
Our candles are designed to self-extinguish, leaving ½ to 1 inch of wax at the bottom of the jar. Once your candle is finished, re-purpose it! Look for ideas on our jar return program page.
Hot Tip
The wax left at the bottom of the jar can be scooped out and placed in a wax melter for hours more of scent enjoyment!
Our candles are typically made just days or weeks before you receive them. We recommend using our candles within 2 years of purchase based on the wax and fragrance materials we use.
Wooden wicks are a little different from traditional cotton wicks – they burn longer, cleaner, and have a cozy crackling ambiance. However, they do require a bit of extra care. Here are our tips to get the most out of your new candle:
- When lighting your candle for the first time, light the wick where the wax meets the wick for several seconds – not at the top of the wick.
- Always trim your wick before each use, to 1/4 of an inch, and remove all charred wood from previous burns. If the wick is too long, the flame may become too high. Simply blow out your candle, allow the wax time to cool, then trim your wick shorter and re-light.
- Allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the container before extinguishing – this helps prevent tunneling, which can impact how well the candle burns.
- If when burning the candle for a long period of time you notice the flame height getting too high or low, it may be necessary to tap off any excess ash or burnt wood along the top of the wick. The flame will then return to its proper optimal height.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Burn candle out of reach of children & pets
- Never burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time
- Don’t burn candles close together: always leave at least 10cm between burning candles
- Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire
- Do not place candles in a draught
- Trim wick to ¼ inch before lighting
- Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring
- When there’s only ½” to 1" of wax left, it’s time to clean out that jar and move on to a new candle!

LINEN SPRAY QUESTIONS & CARE
Our linen + body sprays are formulated with organic based ingredients, including organic aloe leaf juice, organic white willow bark extract, tea tree oil, and essential oil fragrances. Our linen spray is safe for skin, room, and linen use, and are proudly gluten, paraben, and phthalate-free.
Our linen + body sprays are mostly all-natural, and use minimal emulsifiers. Once the fragrance has been added, some separation may occur. We suggest to “shake + spray” before each use to ensure maximum fragrance diffusion.
We use a very small amount of organic alcohol in our linen spray. This helps to dilute the essential oils to make them safe to use on your linens and to help the mist evaporate and not leave any stains from the essential oils. This mist is safe to use directly on to your pillow + skin.
